Computing Engineer - Data Storage System

Develops CERNBox as an interoperable cloud-storage platform for European research infrastructures. The engineer packages cloud-native services, builds Go backend components and open standards, supports users and validates reliable deployments across on-premises and public clouds.

Department: IT Storage and Data Management

• Develop and integrate backend storage components
• Package and deploy services with Kubernetes and Helm
• Implement Open Cloud Mesh support in the Go-based Reva backend
• Operate services, troubleshoot incidents and support institutional adopters

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering or a related field
• No more than two years of professional experience since graduation
• Applicants must not hold a PhD or have held a previous CERN fellow or graduate contract
• Nationality of a CERN Member or Associate Member State, subject to published ceilings
• Spoken and written English or French

• Hybrid graduate appointment for 24 months, potentially extendable to 36 months
• Stand-by, night, Sunday or holiday work may be required
