Responsibilities
- Operate and evolve CERN’s OpenStack cloud infrastructure
- Develop cloud compute, storage, networking and related services
- Build automation and systems tooling in Python
- Maintain configuration-management systems for scalable operations
- Design and integrate new capabilities with IT teams and user communities
- Troubleshoot and optimise large-scale distributed systems
- Contribute bug fixes and improvements to upstream OpenStack projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field
- No more than two years of professional experience since graduation
- University degree without a PhD
- Experience administering Linux in a server or data-centre environment
- Experience writing Python for automation or systems tasks
- Spoken and written English
- Nationality of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State, subject to the stated 2026 nationality ceilings
- No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract
