Job Description

Coordinate UNICEF-supported community surveillance and village health-team work in Luanda, strengthening early warning, outbreak preparedness and response. The UN Volunteer builds capacity, links health authorities with communities, tracks delivery and develops surveillance tools and reports for the Pandemic Fund project

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Strengthen community-based surveillance and early-warning systems
  • Coordinate community health workers and surveillance reporting
  • Develop training materials, SOPs and emergency-preparedness tools
  • Monitor implementation and prepare technical reports for stakeholders

Role Requirements

  • Degree in public health, epidemiology, community health, medicine, nursing or related field
  • At least 3 years in public health, disease surveillance or emergency preparedness
  • Experience with community-based or event-based surveillance systems

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with UN agencies, international NGOs or development partners
  • Experience supporting outbreak investigations or emergency response
