Overview

Strengthens Syria’s immunisation supply chain by improving vaccine and cold-chain management, maintenance, stock control, logistics coordination and performance data use, while supporting government and partners to deliver safe, effective vaccines equitably to children.

Responsibilities

  • Strengthen effective vaccine-management practices and national capacity
  • Improve immunisation supply and cold-chain management, including equipment installation and maintenance
  • Strengthen vaccine stock management to prevent shortages and optimise usage
  • Support establishment of a functional national logistics working group
  • Promote collection, analysis and use of performance data and innovative supply-chain tools
  • Develop immunisation supply-chain policies, strategies, guidelines and systems with government, WHO and partners

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in public health, nutrition, paediatric or family health, health research, international health, health policy or management, environmental health sciences, biostatistics, health education, epidemiology, business administration, supply-chain management, economics, engineering health or a related field
  • A first university degree in a relevant field with two additional years of relevant experience may replace the advanced degree
  • At least five years of relevant experience in public-health planning and management, maternal and neonatal health, vaccine cold-chain management or health emergency preparedness
  • Fluency in English
