Strengthens Fiji’s capacity to plan and implement short-lived climate pollutant mitigation by coordinating government and partner projects, advising on policy and monitoring frameworks, developing climate-finance proposals and integrating super pollutants into national climate commitments.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Fiji’s short-lived climate pollutant projects with government and development partners
  • Advise the national focal point on mitigation planning, policy and implementation
  • Develop mitigation proposals, investment plans and project pipelines for climate finance
  • Support monitoring, reporting and verification work under national climate-reporting commitments
  • Integrate super-pollutant measures into Fiji’s updated climate contribution and implementation plan
  • Engage government, civil society and international partners in CCAC activities and events
  • Track national and regional developments and report implementation progress and support needs

Role Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in environmental management or science, economics, health, project management, finance, administration or a relevant field
  • At least four years of professional experience in environmental management or science, climate change, economics, health, project management, finance or administration
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical assistance to governments and other stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholder groups, including national governments
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of national climate-change mitigation and air-pollution policies
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience working on climate-change mitigation
  • Ability to use advanced formulas in Excel
