Responsibilities
- Advise the SLCP Unit on methane and black-carbon mitigation across solid waste and wastewater systems
- Develop and strengthen waste policies that integrate climate and clean-air objectives
- Design financing mechanisms and support domestic resource mobilisation and private-sector engagement
- Guide national and subnational authorities on practical waste-sector mitigation measures
- Develop knowledge products and deliver stakeholder training and capacity building
- Coordinate Brazil’s engagement with the CCAC Secretariat, Accelerator and Waste Hub
- Review CCAC project documents and represent the programme at relevant events
Requirements
- Advanced degree in biology, environmental sciences, environmental engineering, natural resources management, ecology, economics, sustainable development or a similar discipline, or a first-level degree with four additional years of qualifying experience
- At least seven years of professional experience in climate change and waste
- Ability to write reports, analyse data and provide technical advice to senior waste-sector stakeholders
- Experience in development communication and capacity-building methods
- Fluency in Portuguese and English
