Responsibilities

  • Advise the SLCP Unit on methane and black-carbon mitigation across solid waste and wastewater systems
  • Develop and strengthen waste policies that integrate climate and clean-air objectives
  • Design financing mechanisms and support domestic resource mobilisation and private-sector engagement
  • Guide national and subnational authorities on practical waste-sector mitigation measures
  • Develop knowledge products and deliver stakeholder training and capacity building
  • Coordinate Brazil’s engagement with the CCAC Secretariat, Accelerator and Waste Hub
  • Review CCAC project documents and represent the programme at relevant events

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in biology, environmental sciences, environmental engineering, natural resources management, ecology, economics, sustainable development or a similar discipline, or a first-level degree with four additional years of qualifying experience
  • At least seven years of professional experience in climate change and waste
  • Ability to write reports, analyse data and provide technical advice to senior waste-sector stakeholders
  • Experience in development communication and capacity-building methods
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English
