The officer will provide technical WASH support for refugees and host communities in Tanzania, coordinating partners, planning climate-resilient water and sanitation interventions, supervising infrastructure and restoration work, monitoring service quality and supporting inclusion in national systems.

Responsibilities
- Plan sustainable WASH responses and support inclusion in national and local service systems
- Coordinate government, humanitarian and development partners delivering WASH services
- Assess needs and prepare technical plans, specifications, budgets and Bills of Quantities
- Supervise water harvesting, irrigation, watershed management and ecosystem-restoration works
- Monitor WASH access, service quality and SDG 6 indicators through standard systems
- Build community and partner capacity in hygiene, maintenance and accountable service delivery
- Integrate climate action, environmental safeguards and protection-sensitive approaches
- Report programme progress, risks, gaps and beneficiary feedback to management and donors
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree with three years, graduate degree with two years, or doctorate with one year of relevant experience in civil engineering, hydrology, water resources, public health engineering, environmental engineering, water and sanitation engineering or a related field
- Proven WASH expertise covering surveys, implementation, monitoring, data management and coordination
- English plus the applicable UN working language and local language for the national professional duty station
- Functional clearance is required
