Responsibilities
- Collect, validate and analyse georeferenced spatial data for evidence-based planning
- Maintain GIS datasets and review relevant planning policies, standards and institutions
- Assess environmental hazards, climate risks, vulnerabilities and constraints
- Map transport, water, sanitation, drainage, energy, housing and social infrastructure
- Produce maps, charts, infographics and other spatial visualisations
- Identify infrastructure investments and development interventions supporting resilient urban growth
- Support South Sudan field missions, consultations, workshops and capacity-building activities
- Prepare quality-assured technical reports, guidance and recommendations from field evidence
Requirements
- Advanced degree in architecture, civil engineering, urban and regional planning, economics, physical sciences relevant to human settlements or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree with two additional years of experience
- At least two years of experience in urban development, planning or a related field
- GIS, ArcGIS and Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop knowledge
- Experience managing spatial, regional and urban data
- Fluency in written and spoken English
