Responsibilities

  • Collect, validate and analyse georeferenced spatial data for evidence-based planning
  • Maintain GIS datasets and review relevant planning policies, standards and institutions
  • Assess environmental hazards, climate risks, vulnerabilities and constraints
  • Map transport, water, sanitation, drainage, energy, housing and social infrastructure
  • Produce maps, charts, infographics and other spatial visualisations
  • Identify infrastructure investments and development interventions supporting resilient urban growth
  • Support South Sudan field missions, consultations, workshops and capacity-building activities
  • Prepare quality-assured technical reports, guidance and recommendations from field evidence

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in architecture, civil engineering, urban and regional planning, economics, physical sciences relevant to human settlements or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree with two additional years of experience
  • At least two years of experience in urban development, planning or a related field
  • GIS, ArcGIS and Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop knowledge
  • Experience managing spatial, regional and urban data
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
