Project Manager

Manage UN-Habitat's South Sudan component of the EU-supported IGAD Platform, coordinating delivery, teams, budgets and donor reporting; leading government and partner engagement; mobilizing resources; overseeing field missions; and translating evidence into durable, climate-resilient solutions.

Department: Regional Office for Africa, Sub-Regional Unit for Horn and Eastern Africa

• Coordinate implementation of the South Sudan programme component with regional teams
• Lead the country project team, workplan reviews, quality assurance and budget compliance
• Report progress, challenges and opportunities to programme leadership and headquarters
• Maintain partnerships with the EU, IGAD, UN agencies, government and implementing partners
• Identify funding opportunities and draft concept notes and project proposals
• Coordinate field missions in Aweil and other South Sudan locations
• Translate field evidence and stakeholder feedback into programme recommendations
• Support monitoring, evaluations, technical products and knowledge dissemination

• Advanced university degree in architecture, civil engineering, urban and regional planning, economics, physical sciences related to human settlements or a related field, or a first university degree with qualifying experience
• At least five years of relevant experience in project management or project-management support in humanitarian, development, recovery, resilience or displacement programmes
• Experience working with government, UN agencies, NGOs, implementing partners and communities
• Experience in South Sudan or a similar humanitarian and displacement-affected context
• Oral and written English fluency

• National individual-contractor assignment based in Juba with field missions to Aweil and other South Sudan locations
• The project supports displacement-affected communities through sustainable urban development and durable solutions
