Project Manager

Manages UN-Habitat Syria project delivery for UNOPS, leading planning, implementation, monitoring, compliance, donor reporting and stakeholder coordination for urban recovery and housing, land and property work.

Department: UN-Habitat Syria Programme

• Prepare and update workplans, procurement plans and activity schedules for project activities
• Ensure activities are delivered within timelines, budgets, quality standards and donor frameworks
• Identify bottlenecks and coordinate corrective actions with technical and field teams
• Coordinate with UN-Habitat units, regional office and headquarters
• Oversee budget planning, expenditure tracking, financial reporting and procurement compliance
• Maintain project management systems, records, indicators and monitoring frameworks
• Coordinate field monitoring, output verification, evaluations, audits and donor reviews
• Lead coordination with implementing partners, UN entities, donors and government counterparts

• Advanced university degree in project management, business administration, architecture, urban planning, engineering, public administration, development, construction management or another related field
• First-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree
• Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, ideally with international organisations
• Fluency in Arabic and English

• Twelve-month contract renewable according to budget availability and performance satisfaction
• Role reports to the Head of Urban Services Unit or Urban Advisory Unit under the overall supervision of the Deputy Country Director
