Overview

Provides climate and environmental expertise to UN-Habitat’s Urban Lab and country offices, linking territorial planning, urban finance and climate resilience. The consultant analyses vulnerability and policy frameworks, develops proposals and normative products, supports participatory processes and monitors project risks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide climate-change and urban-resilience advice to the Urban Lab and country offices
  • Analyse and represent spatial data for climate-vulnerability assessments
  • Review climate, environmental, political and regulatory frameworks
  • Research sustainable and climate-resilient urban development and infrastructure
  • Design participatory processes, workshops, outreach and capacity-building materials
  • Develop normative publications and proposals for climate funds and financial partners
  • Monitor environmental, social and project risks and contribute to progress reports
  • Communicate technical results across global, regional and local partners

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in environmental engineering, environmental policy and climate change or a related field, or first-level degree with two years of qualifying experience
  • At least two years of relevant experience in urban and territorial planning or climate change
  • Experience in climate-resilient urban and territorial planning and urban water resilience
  • Fluency in English and Spanish
