Responsibilities

  • Compile, clean and maintain geospatial datasets for Moscow linked to SDG indicators and the Urban Monitoring Framework
  • Review spatial plans, maps, remote-sensing products and other spatial information for SDG thematic analysis
  • Define GIS mapping specifications including scale, symbology, classification and expected chapter outputs
  • Prepare geospatial analyses, thematic maps and cartographic products for the Voluntary Local Review
  • Integrate geospatial findings into SDG analysis, recommendations and publication-ready report materials
  • Refine datasets, map layouts and visual products after stakeholder and task force feedback
  • Prepare GIS visualisations and presentation packs for dissemination events

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in data science, geography, geomatics, GIS, cartography, urban or regional planning, or a related field, or first-level degree with two additional years of relevant experience
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience in GIS analysis, spatial data management and cartographic production
  • Demonstrated experience producing GIS-based thematic maps and geospatial analyses for policy or reporting documents
  • Proficiency with leading GIS tools such as ArcGIS or QGIS
  • Knowledge of statistical research methods and the Rosstat portal
  • Familiarity with SDG localization and UN processes
  • Experience using Microsoft OneDrive for project digital archives
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Russian
