Provides technical and project support for FAO Mongolia groundwater assessment and sustainable water management work, helping government counterparts strengthen monitoring, hydrogeological analysis, GIS information systems and evidence-based agricultural water planning.

Responsibilities

  • Develop donor concept notes and proposals on water, livelihoods and climate resilience
  • Support groundwater assessment, monitoring, data collection, analysis and reporting
  • Compile and analyse hydrogeological, hydrological and water resources information
  • Prepare groundwater vulnerability maps, water security assessments and decision-support tools
  • Coordinate consultations, technical meetings, workshops and validation events with stakeholders
  • Develop training materials and deliver capacity development for government counterparts
  • Prepare technical reports, mission reports and recommendations for water resources management

Requirements

  • University degree in water, water resources engineering, hydrogeology, agriculture, environmental science, natural resource management or a related field
  • Minimum five years of experience in project implementation, groundwater and water management, agricultural development, biodiversity conservation or related areas
  • Working knowledge of English and Mongolian
  • Mongolian nationality
