Caregiver

Provides daily care and protection for unaccompanied migrant children living in an IOM accommodation centre in Patra. The role supports routines, hygiene and safety, coordinates with services and authorities, and responds to crises while helping maintain a supportive environment for minors.

• Assist daily accommodation-centre operations under the shelter coordinator's direction
• Support children with daily routines, hygiene and home-economy practices
• Escort children to social and medical services when needed
• Maintain supplies, equipment and entry-exit records
• Respond to crisis and emergency situations and notify scientific staff
• Coordinate with local authorities on threats to children or staff safety
• Ensure children’s security during day, night, weekend and public-holiday shifts

• High school degree in Greece or proven attendance at a foreign school
• Experience or training relevant to child protection, unaccompanied minors, vulnerability management or protection services
• Fluency in Greek, written and oral
• Fluency in one IOM official language: English, French or Spanish
• Willingness to work day and night shifts, holidays and weekends

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Experience working with diverse populations and multicultural environments
• Valid driving licence with at least five years of driving experience
