Child Protection Officer

Supports the design, implementation and monitoring of UNICEF child-protection programmes in Venezuela. The role analyses programme evidence, builds partnerships and provides technical and operational support that strengthens safeguarding and creates safer environments for children.

• Research, analyse and present technical child-protection programme information
• Support programme development, planning and formulation
• Monitor programme delivery, progress and results
• Provide technical and operational support for implementation
• Build relationships with government, NGOs, donors, United Nations agencies and other partners
• Support knowledge management, innovation and capacity building
• Integrate safeguarding and protection from sexual exploitation and abuse into programme delivery

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in international development, social work, human rights, psychology, sociology or another relevant social science
• At least one year of professional experience in social-development planning and management in child-protection areas
• Knowledge of protection from sexual exploitation and abuse principles and safeguarding standards
• Ability to manage relationships with government, NGOs, donors, United Nations agencies and other partners
• Experience in programme monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, donor reporting and risk analysis
• Fluent Spanish and intermediate English

• This is an elevated-risk child-safeguarding role subject to additional vetting and assessment
