Overview

Advises Ethiopia’s Minister of Women and Social Affairs and senior officials on strengthening the national social and child protection system. The consultant provides policy guidance, technical leadership and high-level coordination to improve regulatory, financing and delivery frameworks across institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Advise the Minister and senior management on social and child protection policy
  • Guide the conceptual design of an integrated national social protection system
  • Provide technical leadership on regulatory, political-economy and financing frameworks
  • Coordinate high-level policy processes across national and regional institutions
  • Strengthen rights-based delivery, coherence and implementation of social protection interventions

Requirements

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in social studies, economics, law, public administration or a related field
  • At least 12 years of progressive experience managing public-sector social protection interventions
  • Expertise navigating political economies and presenting rights-based agendas in diplomatic contexts
  • Experience negotiating policy processes and conducting high-level engagements on national and international platforms
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Amharic
