Programme Policy Officer - Shock Responsive and Adaptive Social Protection

Leads WFP Iraq’s technical and institutional support for shock-responsive and adaptive social protection, coordinating government counterparts, task forces, delivery systems and disaster risk financing agendas.

Department: Social Protection

• Serve as liaison with social protection, disaster risk management and early-warning counterparts
• Establish and coordinate the SRASP Task Force with relevant ministries and agencies
• Support legal frameworks and financial channels for shock-responsive interventions
• Develop technical roadmaps, protocols, simulations and learning agendas
• Support integration of SRASP into the Unified Registry and targeting systems
• Promote digital solutions for targeting, registration and delivery
• Coordinate disaster risk financing and anticipatory action roadmaps with programme units

• Advanced university degree in Social Policy, Economics, International Development, Disaster Risk Management or a related field
• At least five years of progressively responsible experience in social protection, emergency preparedness and response, or adaptive systems
• Experience designing, implementing or evaluating shock-responsive and adaptive social protection systems
• Familiarity with multi-hazard early warning systems and data management protocols in Iraqi government institutions
• Experience in government liaison, institutional framework development and multi-stakeholder coordination
• Fluency in oral and written English and Arabic

• Service contract for 6 months with possibility of extension
