Job Description
Researches and analyses human rights issues affecting national human rights institutions, supports the Global Alliance of NHRIs, builds institutional capacity and works with authorities, civil society and UN partners to prevent violations and strengthen evidence-based action.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Research and analyse human rights developments concerning national institutions
- Draft human rights reports, correspondence and analytical materials
- Support the Global Alliance of NHRIs and its governing bodies
- Deliver training and capacity-building activities for national institutions
- Engage authorities and other actors to prevent or remedy human rights violations
- Build baseline data with governments, civil society, UN agencies and partners
- Disseminate Paris Principles guidance and assess its relevance
- Maintain project data and produce visual insights for planning and reporting
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in law, political science, international relations, social sciences or a related field, or a relevant bachelor’s degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- Minimum two years of progressively responsible experience in human rights, political affairs, international relations, law or a related area, unless exempt through a qualifying UN competitive examination
- Fluency in English
