How to Apply for WMO Jobs

Use WMO Careers or the matching IGO Jobs listing to open the exact job announcement. Read the grade, contract category, duty station, education, experience, language, technical and competency requirements before applying. WMO advertises Professional, General Service, JPO and internship opportunities, which do not have identical eligibility or appointment conditions.
2Begin the application in WMO Careers
Select the vacancy’s application link to enter WMO’s e-recruitment system. For a first application, create the candidate profile from an existing vacancy rather than looking for a standalone profile-registration page. The portal uses the email address you provide to identify you; follow its verification-code prompts and keep access to that inbox.
3Complete the profile that WMO will screen
Enter complete, current information in the personal profile and application fields. WMO states that screening is based on the e-recruitment profile, so explain your education, experience, languages and relevant technical work in the system itself. Add only the attachments requested by that particular listing and keep all claims consistent with your supporting documents.
4Use the portal’s automatic draft saving carefully
WMO Careers automatically retains an unsubmitted application as a draft even though there is no separate “Save as draft” button. Return through **Manage Profile**, then **Profile**, **My Applications**, locate the post and choose **Continue**. A saved draft remains incomplete until you finish the application and submit it for the vacancy.
5Check the signature and submit before “Apply Before”
Review every mandatory field, attachment and declaration before submitting. WMO’s FAQ notes that a submission can fail if required fields are missing or if the final signature does not exactly match the first and family names in the application. Follow the specific announcement’s **Apply Before** time, which WMO Careers displays using your device time zone.
6Monitor the profile instead of emailing recruiters
Log in with the same email address to see applications and their status. WMO says recruiters contact candidates selected to advance and cannot provide individual feedback or a recruitment timeline for every applicant. If you need to alter a submitted application, withdraw it through **Manage Profile**, reapply and resubmit before the deadline; submitted applications cannot be edited directly.
