Overview
Supports IOM’s Ebola response by overseeing Shelter and WASH construction and rehabilitation at points of entry and control. The consultancy monitors water supply, drainage, materials, contractor quality and site safety while coordinating partners and reporting urgent operational risks.

Responsibilities
- Monitor construction, installation and rehabilitation of Shelter and WASH infrastructure at points of entry and control
- Verify works against plans, specifications, WASH standards and infection-prevention requirements
- Track clean-water supply, storage and distribution and escalate interruptions or operational risks
- Monitor wastewater management and drainage around WASH installations
- Inspect construction materials, equipment and supplies before use
- Document non-conformities and follow corrective action through technical acceptance
- Coordinate contractors, health teams, local authorities and site partners
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress, risk and needs reports
Requirements
- Recognised university or higher technical diploma in civil engineering, hydraulics, construction, WASH, architecture, environmental health or a related field
- At least four years of professional experience monitoring construction, WASH infrastructure, water supply, sanitation or temporary infrastructure in a humanitarian or emergency context
- Practical knowledge of handwashing stations, water points, water storage and distribution, drainage, wastewater management and WASH quality control
- Availability for frequent travel to points of entry, points of control, construction sites and water-supply locations
