Overview

Provides independent technical supervision and quality assurance for WFP office renovation works in Yangon. The engineer reviews plans and contractor methods, inspects materials and workmanship, monitors safety and progress, coordinates technical clarifications and reports defects through final handover.

Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, bills of quantities, specifications, schedules and contractor work plans
  • Verify site conditions and coordinate pre-construction arrangements
  • Supervise daily renovation works against approved designs and standards
  • Inspect materials, workmanship, dimensions, alignment and finishing quality
  • Monitor site safety, protective equipment and compliance with local regulations
  • Report defects, deviations, delays and risks with recommended corrective action
  • Coordinate technical clarifications among WFP, the designer and contractor
  • Produce progress, inspection, snagging and final completion reports

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary education and a post-secondary certificate in civil engineering, construction management, architecture or a related technical field
  • At least six years of experience in construction supervision, office renovation, fit-out, building maintenance or similar work
  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, work plans and schedules
  • Fluency in written and spoken Burmese and English
  • Myanmar nationality
