Electrical Technical Assistant

Supports reliable daily operations at the United Nations common premises in Bamako by inspecting power systems, recording electricity and fuel data, performing first-line maintenance, supervising contractors, preparing rooms and equipment, and maintaining safe technical areas.

Department: Common Services

• Inspect generators, hybrid solar systems and uninterruptible power supplies each day
• Record electricity-meter readings and fuel levels in registers and Excel tracking files
• Report abnormal noise, leaks, voltage drops and equipment failures immediately
• Verify fuel deliveries, basic quality checks and safe unloading procedures
• Perform preventive and first-line electrical, plumbing and carpentry maintenance
• Prepare workspaces and supervise specialist contractors during interventions
• Support room setup, equipment moves and physical inventories
• Check emergency exits, fire extinguishers and technical-area safety

• Secondary education with at least four years of relevant electrical works experience, or a bachelor’s degree in engineering, civil engineering, rural and urban engineering or an equivalent field with at least one year of relevant experience
