Job Description
Supports UNICEF’s WASH programme in Somaliland through sector analysis, programme planning, field monitoring and technical assistance on water supply and sanitation infrastructure. The officer works with authorities and partners to improve delivery quality, emergency readiness and accountable use of resources.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Analyse WASH conditions, needs and programme performance in Somaliland
- Contribute to WASH programme planning, design and results frameworks
- Monitor field implementation, outputs, budgets and partner performance
- Provide technical support on water-supply and sanitation infrastructure
- Support procurement, construction and contract-management processes
- Coordinate with authorities, implementing partners and sector stakeholders
- Strengthen emergency preparedness and response for WASH services
- Prepare reports, evaluations and knowledge products for programme decisions
Role Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, water and sanitation engineering, public health or another relevant technical field
- At least two years of relevant professional experience in WASH programme development or implementation
- Fluency in English
Desired Criteria
- Advanced university degree in a relevant field
- Knowledge of Somali
- Experience in humanitarian WASH programming
- Knowledge of another official United Nations language or a local language
