Job Description

Leads delivery of UNDP Tunisia’s prevention-of-violent-extremism programme, combining technical advice with project management and partnership development. The specialist coordinates national stakeholders, strengthens social cohesion and mobilizes knowledge and resources across the country office.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation of the TARABOT project in line with annual work plans
  • Coordinate project activities, staff, consultants and performance management
  • Prepare terms of reference, concept notes and implementation reports
  • Manage project resources in accordance with UNDP rules and donor agreements
  • Provide technical advice on preventing violent extremism and social cohesion
  • Build partnerships with UN agencies, national institutions and development partners
  • Strengthen knowledge management, learning and information sharing across UNDP networks

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in social sciences, law, international development, management or a related field
  • Or a Bachelor's degree in the listed fields with 2 additional years of experience
  • At least 7 years of experience with a Master's degree or 9 years with a Bachelor's degree
  • Experience managing development programmes or projects
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing institutional partnerships
  • Proficiency in French and good knowledge of English

Desired Criteria

  • Expertise in security-sector reform or justice
  • Previous experience with the United Nations, particularly UNDP
  • Experience working in North Africa or the Middle East
  • Knowledge of Arabic
