Job Description

Leads implementation support for IOM Costa Rica’s migrant integration project, coordinating implementing partners, service providers, budgets, monitoring and operational workflows so migrants can access regular status, essential services and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate implementation of the migrant integration project
  • Monitor activities and recommend adjustments to implementation plans
  • Research and analyse migration developments, legislation and project evidence
  • Track budget expenditure and maintain approved budget records
  • Coordinate implementing partners and service providers under IOM and donor rules
  • Plan and deliver capacity-building workshops
  • Maintain liaison with authorities, UN agencies, donors and civil society
  • Prepare reports, procedures, lessons learned and project-development materials

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in political or social sciences, international relations, development studies, migration studies, human rights, law or a related field with five years of relevant experience, or high school diploma with seven years
  • Experience liaising with authorities, international institutions, UN agencies and non-governmental organisations
  • Experience working with migrants, refugees, displaced people, trafficking survivors or other vulnerable groups
  • Experience monitoring and evaluating activity implementation
  • Fluency in English and Spanish
  • Valid residence and work permit for Costa Rica

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in a multicultural international humanitarian, government or non-governmental organisation
  • Experience managing IOM processes for implementing partners and service providers
  • Working knowledge of French, Portuguese, Chinese, Arabic or Russian
