Overview

The associate leads legal-identity activities for migrants remaining in Costa Rica, coordinating identity verification, documentation and case workflows, budgets, government and consular partners, staff supervision, capacity building and reporting while protecting sensitive personal and biometric data.

Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation and monitoring of legal-identity project activities
  • Support identity screening and document-supported or declaration-based verification
  • Coordinate collection and secure management of personal and biometric information
  • Monitor project budgets and administrative and technical delivery
  • Coordinate government, consular, United Nations and civil-society counterparts
  • Plan capacity-building workshops on legal identity and documentation
  • Prepare briefings, correspondence and narrative and financial reports
  • Supervise staff and develop procedures, lessons and project concepts

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with five years of professional experience, or high school diploma with seven years of professional experience
  • Experience liaising with governmental authorities, national or international institutions, United Nations agencies or non-governmental organisations
  • Experience working with migrants, refugees, displaced people, trafficking survivors or other vulnerable groups
  • Knowledge of legal identity, civil documentation and regularization pathways
  • Ability to manage sensitive personal and biometric information securely
  • Fluency in English
  • Fluency in Spanish
