Overview

UNRWA's Senior Logistics Officer in Ramallah leads warehousing, distribution, customs, fleet operations and emergency preparedness. The post manages staff and budgets, strengthens logistics policies, oversees vehicles and generators, coordinates contracts and advises programmes on efficient and compliant service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the field logistics office, staffing, plans, budgets and service performance
  • Oversee receipt, customs clearance, quality control, warehousing and distribution of supplies
  • Lead fleet maintenance, vehicle allocation, transport services and replacement planning
  • Manage warehouse, fleet, generator, security and emergency-preparedness risks
  • Review logistics contracts, market conditions and service-provider performance
  • Train, coach and evaluate logistics personnel
  • Coordinate reporting and provide technical logistics advice to field departments

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in supply-chain management, transport management, engineering, business administration, public administration, commerce or a related field
  • At least seven years of progressively responsible professional experience managing a complex logistics office, field operation or logistics hub
  • At least three years of supervisory experience
  • English at United Nations Level II and Arabic at United Nations Level III
  • Current UNRWA internal-candidate status
  • Residence in the West Bank or Jerusalem with authorization to work at the duty station
