Senior Information Management Officer

Lead information systems, evidence management and digital support for an international investigative mechanism documenting serious crimes in Afghanistan. The officer directs multidisciplinary teams, governs sensitive evidence, secures information assets and delivers technology strategy for investigative, legal and judicial work.

Department: Information Systems Management Section

• Lead teams responsible for evidence management, information systems, security and digital support
• Translate investigative, analytical and legal needs into strategies, workflows and technology services
• Set priorities, workplans, standards and performance expectations across the section
• Establish information-governance policies for sensitive evidence throughout its lifecycle
• Enforce confidentiality, integrity, availability, retention and evidentiary standards
• Direct information-technology projects and organisational change
• Build partnerships to improve investigative and analytical capacity
• Manage the information-systems budget and technical procurement assessments

• Advanced university degree in law, human rights, criminal justice, information systems management, database administration, computer science, business administration or a related field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in law, investigations or technology
• Experience applying emerging techniques to closed-source or open-source investigation, data protection, information security, evidence acquisition and e-discovery
• English at United Nations Language Framework Level III across reading, writing, listening and speaking
