Overview
Protect and support witnesses and victims engaging with the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Afghanistan. The officer will assess threats, design and coordinate protection measures, advise investigative missions, maintain partner networks and strengthen confidential case protocols.

Responsibilities
- Conduct risk and threat assessments for witnesses and victims
- Design and coordinate appropriate witness protection and risk mitigation measures
- Advise investigative teams before and during missions involving witnesses
- Develop protection networks, protocols and standard operating procedures
- Support protective arrangements with authorities and partner organizations
Requirements
- Advanced degree in law, criminal justice, human rights, political science, international relations, social sciences or related field, or an eligible first degree with two additional years
- At least five years of progressively responsible witness protection experience
- Experience conducting risk and threat assessments and implementing protection measures
- English at UN Level II
