Summary of Responsibilities
- Analyse political, social and economic conditions and contribute to national strategic frameworks
- Design governance programmes and translate UNDP priorities into local interventions
- Oversee programme planning, budgeting, implementation, risk management and quality assurance
- Apply results-based management and strengthen monitoring, evaluation and learning
- Build partnerships and identify joint programming with government, donors and civil society
- Research donors and develop project documents, proposals and resource-mobilization opportunities
- Provide policy and institutional advice and organize programme training for project staff
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in human rights, political science, public administration, political geography, development studies, international affairs, law or a related field, or bachelor’s degree with two additional years of experience
- Applicants with a bachelor’s degree require at least two years of relevant experience in advisory services and design, monitoring and evaluation of development portfolios or projects; no experience is required with a relevant master’s degree
- Fluency in English and Swahili

- Experience in democratic governance
- Project or programme management experience
- Knowledge of Tanzania or East African development contexts
- Experience with United Nations or UNDP policy and programming approaches
- Knowledge of gender equality, human rights and sustainable development goals
- PRINCE2 or equivalent project-management certification
