Responsibilities

  • Analyse democratic governance and civic participation trends across West and Central Africa
  • Develop knowledge products on regional and country-level governance trends
  • Design and support projects that broaden democratic space and strengthen civil and political rights
  • Implement initiatives under the AU–UNDP Africa Facility for Inclusive Transition
  • Mobilise resources for UNDP democratic-governance initiatives
  • Support the regional governance programme and produce knowledge and communication materials

Requirements

  • Education in public policy and management, political science, public-sector management, public administration, law, development studies or a related field
  • Experience providing technical or advisory support on democratic governance at national and regional levels
  • Experience managing governance projects focused on civic participation
  • Experience developing partnerships and mobilising or managing donor funding
  • English proficiency
