Job Description

Leads UNICEF China’s innovative-finance function, mobilizing private-sector capital for child outcomes through investment, climate and risk-financing solutions. The specialist develops financing strategies, evaluates markets and risks, manages partnerships and team delivery, and coordinates with colleagues to advance child-lens impact investing, resource mobilization and implementation.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative-finance strategies, engagement modalities and opportunity pipelines
  • Lead portfolio analysis and identify private-sector finance opportunities
  • Design and implement financing instruments with private-sector partners
  • Conduct financial, market, risk and feasibility analyses
  • Coordinate child-lens impact-investing framework adoption with global and regional teams
  • Lead workplanning and supervise delivery against governance, risk and compliance requirements
  • Mobilize private-sector resources and oversee partnership development
  • Guide knowledge products, proposals, communication materials and impact reporting

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in international development, finance, economics, public administration, business administration, law or a related field
  • At least five years of experience in development, innovative finance, ESG or impact investing, investment banking, risk analysis or market analysis
  • Experience in partnership management, financial analysis, project management, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement or market research
  • Chinese nationality
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese, written and spoken

  • Experience structuring partnerships with private sector and financial institutions
  • Experience analyzing financial markets and innovative financing solutions
  • Experience managing complex multi-stakeholder initiatives
  • Country-level experience in development, fragile settings or humanitarian contexts
