Responsibilities
- Conduct a preliminary desk review and introductory interviews with project staff
- Prepare the review framework, stakeholder map, interview matrix, schedule and inception report
- Analyse project performance, implementation challenges and prospects for sustainable outcomes
- Interview implementing agencies, partners and stakeholders and conduct an approximately seven-day field assessment
- Report progress and emerging issues regularly to the Task Manager
- Draft and finalise the midterm review report in response to UNEP Evaluation Office comments
- Prepare preliminary findings, recommendations and a response-to-comments annex
Requirements
- Advanced degree in environmental sciences, international development or another relevant political or social science field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- At least seven years of technical or evaluation experience
- Fluency in spoken and written English
