Midterm Review Expert – GEF Enhancing Land Management and Strengthening Ecosystem Resilience for Integrated Landscape Restoration and Climate-Resilient Food Systems in Carriacou, Grenada

Conducts the midterm review of UNEP’s Grenada land-management and ecosystem-resilience project, assessing performance, sustainability and corrective needs. The consultant completes desk research, stakeholder interviews, field assessment and evidence-based review reporting.

Department: GEF Biodiversity and Land Degradation Unit

• Conduct a preliminary desk review and introductory interviews with project staff
• Prepare the review framework, stakeholder map, interview matrix, schedule and inception report
• Analyse project performance, implementation challenges and prospects for sustainable outcomes
• Interview implementing agencies, partners and stakeholders and conduct an approximately seven-day field assessment
• Report progress and emerging issues regularly to the Task Manager
• Draft and finalise the midterm review report in response to UNEP Evaluation Office comments
• Prepare preliminary findings, recommendations and a response-to-comments annex

• Advanced degree in environmental sciences, international development or another relevant political or social science field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
• At least seven years of technical or evaluation experience
• Fluency in spoken and written English

• Home-based consultancy for four months
• The assignment may include an approximately seven-day field mission
• Reports to the GEF Task Manager and the Chief of the Biodiversity and Land Degradation Unit
