Responsibilities

  • Conduct a preliminary desk review and introductory interviews with project staff
  • Prepare the review framework, stakeholder map, interview matrix, schedule and inception report
  • Analyse project performance, implementation challenges and prospects for sustainable outcomes
  • Interview implementing agencies, partners and stakeholders and conduct an approximately seven-day field assessment
  • Report progress and emerging issues regularly to the Task Manager
  • Draft and finalise the midterm review report in response to UNEP Evaluation Office comments
  • Prepare preliminary findings, recommendations and a response-to-comments annex

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in environmental sciences, international development or another relevant political or social science field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
  • At least seven years of technical or evaluation experience
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
