Investment Specialist

UNCDF seeks an investment specialist to lead blended-finance work for Colombia's Conexión Catatumbo project. The specialist will build a transaction pipeline, perform due diligence, structure guarantees and other instruments, ready cocoa-sector organisations for finance, coordinate lenders and partners, and monitor results.

Department: Conexión Catatumbo

• Build and assess a pipeline of investment transactions for the cocoa value chain
• Conduct financial, operational, legal, environmental, social and governance due diligence
• Validate financial models and prepare investment memoranda and recommendations
• Structure blended-finance solutions, guarantees and investment terms
• Provide investment-readiness assistance to cooperatives, producer associations and small businesses
• Coordinate financial institutions, government counterparts, United Nations partners and beneficiaries
• Monitor financial performance, risk, impact and environmental and social compliance

• Master's degree in economics, finance, business administration or a related field, or a bachelor's degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
• At least five years of relevant experience with a master's degree or seven years with a bachelor's degree in structuring or monitoring financial investments
• Experience in development, rural or agri-food finance in Colombia or emerging-market investment in least developed countries
• Experience providing portfolio de-risking to lending institutions
• Experience underwriting grants, debt or guarantees
• Fluency in English and Spanish

• Office-based in Bogotá with field travel to Catatumbo, including Tibú, El Tarra and Sardinata
• Occasional other national and international travel may be required
