Principal Private Sector Development Specialist

Leads ADB’s private-sector development and public-private partnership agenda in South Asia, shaping country strategies, originating investment and advisory pipelines, conducting policy dialogue, building public-private relationships and guiding sovereign, non-sovereign and transaction-advisory operations.

Department: South Asia Department

• Lead private-sector development strategies, assessments and roadmaps for South Asia
• Originate investment, public-private partnership and transaction-advisory opportunities
• Conduct policy dialogue with governments, investors, lenders and development partners
• Build bankable project pipelines across sovereign and non-sovereign operations
• Review proposals and strengthen private-sector components in ADB projects
• Lead technical assistance, capacity building and enabling-environment reforms
• Manage client relationships and supervise the private-sector development task team

• Master’s degree in economics, business administration, finance, accounting, public policy or a related field, or a university degree with at least five years of additional specialized experience
• At least twelve years of experience developing and implementing private-sector development programmes, public-private partnerships, infrastructure advisory or commercial-finance transactions
• Experience building and managing teams and capacity-development processes
• Diversified international experience in development institutions and private-sector organizations operating in developing countries
• Nationality of an ADB member country

• Initial three-year fixed-term appointment with possible extension or conversion
• The initial assignment is at the Bangladesh Resident Mission and relocation to Dhaka is required
• ADB may later reassign the role to Manila or another resident mission
