Strengthen research ethics review and governance at WHO Western Pacific Regional Office. The consultant screens protocols, improves committee resources and analytics, develops responsible AI guidance and tools for ethics review, and trains staff, reviewers and researchers across the region.

• Screen research proposals and prepare ethics assessments and reviewer briefings
• Build a repository of review outcomes, feedback and common protocol deficiencies
• Update ethics committee guidance, templates and documentation tools
• Prepare an annual analytical report on review trends and governance improvements
• Analyse international practice for AI use in research ethics review
• Contribute safeguards and quality measures for responsible AI-enabled ethics workflows
• Design and test AI-assisted protocol screening and reviewer-support tools
• Deliver capacity-building sessions on AI-enabled research and ethics governance

• University degree in bioethics, public health, medicine, law, health sciences, social sciences, artificial intelligence, data science or a related field
• At least three years of professional experience in research ethics, research governance, health research management or ethics committee operations
• Experience developing technical reports, guidance or training materials
• Expert English
• Strong knowledge of international research ethics standards and AI-related ethical issues
