Gender and Local Community Specialist

Supports preparation of an FAO-GEF inland fisheries project by analysing gender, social inclusion and community livelihoods. The specialist leads consultations and evidence review, develops a gender strategy and action plan, integrates activities and budgets into the results framework, and consolidates project documentation.

• Conduct gender analysis through evidence review and consultations in target landscapes
• Compile research and reference materials on gender equality and social inclusion
• Develop a project gender strategy covering women, men, youth and relevant social groups
• Prepare a gender action plan with mainstreaming entry points, activities and budget needs
• Integrate gender actions into the project results framework and implementation design
• Compile baseline information on local communities and livelihoods
• Consolidate technical inputs, consultation records and project documentation
• Provide technical and operational support to the project preparation team

• Master’s degree in social sciences, business administration, marketing, agriculture, environmental economics or a related field
• At least five years of experience in gender and livelihood development, preferably in fisheries, agriculture or forestry
• Working knowledge at Level C of English and Indonesian
• Indonesian nationality or residence with a valid work permit
