Field Security Assistant

Supports IOM mission security by monitoring safeguards, guard services, access controls, incident response and office security systems. The assistant maintains records and stakeholder contacts, coordinates with host authorities and UNDSS, and helps protect staff, visitors, premises and assets across operational sites.

Department: Office of Staff Security

• Monitor implementation of security risk measures and donor security requirements across IOM sites
• Oversee guard conduct, access controls and security support for staff, visitors and clients
• Inspect facilities and CCTV coverage and coordinate procurement of security equipment and services
• Maintain security files, key registers, visitor logs, staff lists and authority contact databases
• Support warden systems, contingency planning and security training
• Liaise with host-government authorities, UNDSS and local security stakeholders
• Respond to emergencies and report incidents, breaches and unusual activity
• Support security evaluations and residential security advice for IOM staff

• University degree with two years of relevant experience, or high school certificate with four years of relevant experience and prior UN or international NGO experience
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic

• Nine-month Special Short Term Graded appointment
• Offer is subject to funding confirmation
• Appointment requires medical fitness, accreditation, residency or visa compliance and security clearances
• Recommended candidates may remain eligible for similar roles for 24 months
