Supports protection, gender-based violence and disability-inclusion programming in IOM’s South Sudan response. The associate conducts assessments, strengthens referrals and partner capacity, engages affected communities and monitors integrated services for displaced people and survivors.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse and prioritise protection and gender-based violence issues across field sectors
  • Implement protection, gender-based violence and disability-inclusion activities in integrated projects
  • Build partnerships with community leaders and representative groups to strengthen participation
  • Conduct protection assessments, service mapping and gender-transformative community outreach
  • Operate community referral systems under protection and gender-based violence principles
  • Train IOM and partner teams in case management, psychosocial support, referrals and survivor services
  • Implement prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse activities with the responsible officer
  • Monitor partner delivery, service quality and reporting and recommend corrective action

Requirements

  • University degree in social work, social sciences, psychology or a related field with at least three years of relevant experience, or a school diploma with at least five years of relevant experience
  • At least three years of experience in humanitarian protection and community-stabilisation programming
  • Experience implementing integrated protection programmes in crisis and conflict settings
  • Experience working with local authorities and partners serving people affected by displacement
  • Ability to work in difficult locations for extended periods
  • Experience coordinating with cluster systems
  • Fluent English
