Overview
Lead FAO’s country programme in Botswana, represent the organization to government and partners, and align its work with national priorities and the UN cooperation framework. The representative oversees programmes, emergency readiness, partnerships, resource mobilisation, personnel, finances, security and institutional risk.

Responsibilities
- Represent and advocate for FAO with government, partners, media and the UN country team
- Lead country programming, situation analysis and FAO contributions to UN planning frameworks
- Build partnerships and mobilise extrabudgetary resources
- Oversee programme implementation, monitoring, reporting and emergency coordination
- Manage the country office, personnel, financial resources, security, controls and operational risks
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in agriculture, forestry, fisheries, rural development or another area related to FAO activities
- At least 10 years of relevant field-programme planning, formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation experience
- Proficiency in English
- Intermediate proficiency in one other FAO official language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish
- Experience in multiple locations or areas of work, including field positions and government relations
- Candidate must not be a national of the country of accreditation
