Overview

UNICEF's national UN Volunteer specialist will help restore and strengthen health and nutrition services for earthquake-affected communities in Aragua. The assignment combines field monitoring, maternal and child care support, workforce training, data analysis and coordination with authorities and humanitarian partners.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and monitor integrated health and nutrition interventions in earthquake-affected communities
  • Conduct field visits to identify service gaps and support restoration of health and nutrition points
  • Strengthen maternal, neonatal, child health and nutrition services
  • Train health personnel and community actors in emergency health and nutrition approaches
  • Coordinate activities with authorities, service providers and humanitarian partners
  • Collect and analyse programme data and prepare technical reports

Requirements

  • Professional background in public health, nutrition, medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics, neonatology or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in health and nutrition programming and coordination
  • Experience supporting maternal, neonatal and child health, nutrition or health services
  • Spanish proficiency
