Digital Engagement and Participation Associate

Supports UNICEF South Africa’s programme coordination and youth participation through U-Report. The UN Volunteer manages RapidPro content and performance, develops polls and feedback loops, analyses engagement data, coordinates learners and partners, and maintains knowledge resources and reporting.

• Coordinate programme meetings, workshops, field missions and workplan delivery
• Research child rights, youth participation, education, health and social inclusion
• Maintain programme trackers, reports, files and Youth Theme Group records
• Manage U-Report and RapidPro polls, chatbots, alerts and information campaigns
• Monitor registrations, engagement, response rates and participation trends
• Produce real-time data summaries, presentations and stakeholder reports
• Coordinate learner advisory mechanisms, school activations and youth consultations
• Support social media, emergency messaging and systematic feedback loops

• Education in social sciences, development studies, public administration, public health, education, international relations, social policy, community development or a related field; relevant diploma holders are considered
• Interest or experience in development programmes, youth work, project coordination or programme support
• Stakeholder-engagement, reporting, knowledge-management, research and digital skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Teams
• English language ability
