Deputy Technical Coordinator – Juvenile Justice System

Supports technical coordination of a UNDP–Brazilian judiciary project strengthening the juvenile justice and socio-educational system. The coordinator plans and monitors activities, guides consultants, tracks contracts and deliverables, develops technical documents and supports rights-based reform and training.

Department: Making Justice Programme, Axis 2

• Support management and implementation of the project’s juvenile-justice workstream
• Prepare technical inputs for progress reports and management instruments
• Guide technical consultants and draft terms of reference
• Develop documents needed to implement workstream activities
• Monitor consultancies, contracts, milestones, schedules and product quality
• Conduct missions, meetings, training and qualitative monitoring activities
• Support strategic planning and continuity of justice-system actions
• Coordinate closely with the National Council of Justice and UNDP teams

• Advanced university degree in law, public management, administration, economics, social sciences, political science, sociology, anthropology, psychology, social work, philosophy or a related field, or a relevant bachelor’s degree with two years of qualifying experience
• With an advanced degree no prior experience is required; with a bachelor’s degree at least two years of professional or academic experience in justice, human rights, penal systems, public management or related fields
• Fluency in Portuguese
