Responsibilities

  • Lead formulation, delivery and oversight of the UNFPA country programme
  • Integrate population, sexual and reproductive health and gender priorities into national development
  • Strengthen national capacity and maintain ownership of programme results
  • Build strategic partnerships and lead advocacy with national and international counterparts
  • Manage programme resources and support country-team performance
  • Serve as officer-in-charge when the Representative is absent
  • Guide programme staff through knowledge sharing and creative programme development

Requirements

  • Postgraduate degree in public health, medicine, sociology, demography, gender, international relations, development, economics, public administration, management or a related field
  • Ten years of increasingly responsible professional experience in public administration and international development
  • International experience in population and development, sexual and reproductive health or humanitarian programming
  • Experience in advocacy and policy dialogue at national and international levels
  • Proven ability to lead teams and deliver high-quality results
  • Field experience
  • Experience leading complex development and humanitarian programmes
  • Fluency in French and English
