Job Description

Designs, delivers and documents participatory training for small-scale mining communities in Honduras, combining basic financial management with positive masculinities and violence prevention. The consultancy strengthens sustainable livelihoods, gender equality, peaceful relationships and local ownership.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the assignment with UN Women, local partners and participating communities
  • Design a participatory methodology adapted to small-scale mining communities
  • Develop practical training materials on basic financial management
  • Develop training materials on positive masculinities and violence prevention
  • Facilitate in-person financial-management training sessions
  • Facilitate participatory sessions on masculinities, gender equality and violence prevention
  • Provide asynchronous participant follow-up through WhatsApp
  • Document results, good practices, lessons learned and recommendations

Role Requirements

  • Secondary education with at least seven years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at least four years of relevant experience
  • At least three years of experience applying participatory methodologies and developing training materials
  • Native Spanish and intermediate English proficiency

Desired Criteria

  • Complementary training in gender, positive masculinities, violence prevention, social work or community development
  • At least one year of experience delivering basic financial-management training

Additional info

  • The assignment may require up to 12 trips and 32 travel days within Honduras
  • Payments are scheduled at 20%, 40% and 40% after approval of the corresponding deliverables
  • The financial proposal must be all-inclusive, and the consultant is responsible for medical insurance
