Consultant(e) international(e) – Forum régional sur la culture de la paix

Shapes UNESCO’s Regional Culture of Peace Forum in Bujumbura. The consultant analyzes diagnostics from eleven African states, develops country briefs and a background paper, designs and facilitates plenaries and co-creation workshops, and consolidates commitments into a regional roadmap, final report and Luanda policy brief.

• Analyze territorial peace diagnostics from eleven ECCAS member states
• Prepare country diagnostic briefs and the forum background paper
• Map prospective cross-border peace and cooperation pilot areas
• Design plenary sessions, thematic workshops and co-creation laboratories
• Develop facilitation guides for moderators and rapporteurs
• Facilitate technical forum sessions and guide country commitments
• Consolidate sector reports and participant contributions
• Draft the regional roadmap, final forum report and Luanda policy brief

• Master’s degree or doctorate in political science, international relations, international law, conflict studies or social sciences
• At least ten years of international experience in peacebuilding, conflict prevention, cross-border management or mediation
• Confirmed expertise in Central Africa and the Great Lakes region
• Knowledge of UNESCO culture-of-peace frameworks, African Union Agenda 2063, the Luanda Biennale and ECCAS
• Experience facilitating high-level forums and drafting policy reports for the United Nations or regional organizations
• Excellent written and spoken French

• Two-month Level 3 senior international consultancy
• Remote preparation and follow-up with on-site facilitation during the Bujumbura forum
• Forum scheduled for September 2026
