Responsibilities
- Maintain and support the Security Operations Centre incident-detection infrastructure
- Extend open-source security monitoring and response capabilities
- Configure AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud security controls
- Review the security posture of Microsoft and Google SaaS environments
- Contribute technical expertise to Computer Security Office projects
- Advise CERN teams on security matters and perform penetration testing
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science; applicants may not hold a PhD
- No more than two years of professional experience since graduation by the application deadline
- No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract
- Experience designing networks and applying communication technologies and protocols
- Experience installing, operating and maintaining computing systems
- Experience with secure configurations, security analysis, penetration testing and cloud security
- Excellent Linux or UNIX administration, virtualisation, database and shell-scripting knowledge
- Programming experience in Python or C
- Spoken and written English

- Hybrid role starting ideally on 1 October 2026. Stand-by, night, Sunday and official-holiday work may be required. Eligibility is limited to CERN Member or Associate Member State nationals, subject to the stated 2026 ceilings.
