Summary of Responsibilities
- Coordinate Business Operations Strategy implementation, monitoring and information sharing
- Assess common services and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost avoidance
- Prepare common-service budgets and support procurement and contract management
- Serve as secretariat for OMT meetings, workplans, records and working groups
- Coordinate common back-office participation across UN agencies
- Support occupational health and safety working-group decisions and follow-up
- Coordinate UN agencies, government and partners around the efficiency agenda
- Capture lessons learned and share operational good practice across Pacific forums
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree in business, public administration, economics, political science, social science or a related field with two years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree with four years
- Proven experience providing coordination, administrative and operational support
- Fluency in English
- Proficiency with office software, spreadsheets, presentations and web-based management systems
- Experience with project administration and logistics
- Knowledge of office procurement, finance, human resources, administration and common services
Desired Criteria
- Prior experience with the UN system, particularly a Resident Coordinator Office
- Understanding of Pacific governance systems and political economy
- Ability to undertake extensive research
- Ability to build partnerships with government, development partners, civil society and the private sector
