Summary of Responsibilities
- Review investigation reports and case documents to identify gaps and outstanding issues
- Draft convening orders and case-specific terms of reference for approval
- Brief Board members and administer confidentiality undertakings
- Guide proceedings under applicable UN rules, directives and administrative instructions
- Coordinate witness interviews and prepare accurate statements for review and signature
- Quality-assure Board reports, recommendations and complete case files
- Draft transmittal memoranda for senior mission and UN leadership
- Track case progress and follow up implementation of approved recommendations
Role Requirements
- Relevant background in business administration, social sciences, law, humanities or a related area
- Experience in analytical report writing in English and French
- Ability to handle confidential information objectively and accurately
- Ability and willingness to work independently in challenging environments and undertake extensive travel when required
Desired Criteria
- Experience with a Board of Inquiry or another investigative body
- Experience handling confidential documents and familiarity with UN rules, regulations, manuals and policies
