Job Description
Builds and improves the Resident Coordinator Office's data systems, analytics and decision-support products in Sierra Leone. The specialist develops data collection and quality-control processes, interprets trends, prepares dashboards and reports, and works with data professionals and partners to strengthen evidence-based planning, data governance and staff capacity across the development, humanitarian and peace nexus.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Develop databases, data-collection systems, analytics and quality-control capabilities
- Identify data sources and analyse trends using structured and unstructured information
- Acquire, clean and quality-assure data and maintain data systems
- Produce dashboards, reports and visualization outputs for management decision-making
- Document data requirements, methods and standards
- Improve data architecture, automate manual processes and resolve infrastructure issues
- Build staff and partner capacity through data-analytics training and workshops
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in computer science, data science, analytics, statistics, applied mathematics, information management, data management, information systems, information science or a related quantitative field
- At least two years of progressively responsible experience translating business requirements into technical solutions
- Demonstrated ability to quality-assure data-analysis outputs
- English at UN Level II in reading, writing, listening and speaking
- Must be a national of Sierra Leone
Desired Criteria
- Certification in data engineering, data management, analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud platforms or UN 2.0 disciplines
- Experience validating data accuracy and consistency
- Experience using Tableau, Power BI, Qlik or R for data storytelling and visualization
- At least one year of data analytics or related experience

- Fixed-term appointment for an initial period of one year, extendable subject to funds, budget approval or mandate extension
